As much as I love my keyboard, it isn’t the most natural thing for playing percussion parts on. Thankfully Santa brought me an Akai LPD8 pad controller, which is awesome since the Darkest Day score is probably going to have a fair bit of percussion stuff going on. As well as my own recordings and custom samples I’ll be chucking in a good deal of East West and Tonehammer’s excellent percussion samples. I just had a quick test of this thing – and given I started two hours ago and meant to finish after ten minutes, it’s a resounding, fun success!
A neater edit of the DD Score Diary is on the way, along with the second vid in the next few weeks…
