The first VR entry in this beloved franchise… 

Lots more to come on this one, but for now I’m busy writing and recording some sneaky, dark, gothic, and ever-so-slightly groovy music for it. I’m having a blast!

It’s also a nice mix of challenges – coming onto the project relatively late means I’m running mostly on instinct without lots of time for r&d and trying ideas out. And it also means I’m squeezing the most out of FMOD in terms of making the music as reactive as possible and immersive to the player, but without adding work, time and risk for code and design!

And finally, Thief is a well known and beloved IP, so there’s a certain amount of pressure involved in paying respect to the aesthetic that has gone before but also not being chained to it. But thankfully I’ve walked this tightrope many times before, so I had a good feeling for where best to pitch the music.
